                               RESOLUTION NO. 19614
                  
                  
                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY
                   CLOSURE OF VARIOUS STREETS IN THE UTC CAMPUS
                   AREA, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN, ON
                   TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27, 1992 AND SATURDAY,
                   OCTOBER 31, 1992 FOR THE "UTC HOMECOMING
                   PARADE AND RELATED EVENTS" SPONSORED BY THE
                   UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE AT CHATTANOOGA,
                   UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
                  
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby authorized 
the
       temporary closing of the north curb lane of McCallie Avenue
       between Baldwin Street and Houston Street, the two lanes closest
       to the north curb of McCallie Avenue between Houston Street and
       Georgia Avenue, the west curb lane of Georgia Avenue between
       McCallie Avenue and M.L. King Boulevard, and the north curb lane
       of M.L. King Boulevard between Georgia Avenue and Miller Plaza on 

       Tuesday, October 27, 1992 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. for the
       presentation of the "UTC Homecoming Strut;" the temporary closure 

       of Vine Street between Douglas Street and Central Avenue, the
       southbound curb lane of Central Avenue between Vine Street and 
Oak
       Street, the westbound lane of Oak Street between Central Avenue
       and Douglas Street, the northbound lane of Douglas Street between 

       Oak Street and 5th Street, Palmetto Street between Oak Street and 

       5th Street, the eastbound lane of 5th Street between Douglas
       Street and Palmetto Street on Saturday, October 31, 1992 from 
8:00
       A.M. to 11:30 A.M. for the "UTC Road Race and One Mile Fun Run 
and
       Bed Race;" and the temporary closing of Vine Street between
       Houston Street and Palmetto Street, Oak Street between Houston
       Street and Douglas Street, Houston Street between Oak Street and
       Vine Street on Saturday, October 31, 1992 from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00
       P.M. for the "UTC Homecoming Parade" sponsored by the University
       of Tennessee at Chattanooga, provided that the sponsors shall set 

       out and pick up traffic cones, barricades, road closed and detour 

       signs in accordance with the traffic control plan attached hereto 

       and shall provide at all times an access lane for emergency
       vehicles and residents' vehicles.
